Wainwright Outlying Fells

A Wainwright Outlying Fell is a Lake District hill outside the seven main Pictorial Guide areas. This page lists every Outlying Fell currently in our directory.

Alfred Wainwright published The Outlying Fells of Lakeland in 1974 as a separate book, aimed at walkers who wanted shorter days. The list at the back of the book names 116 summits.

Most are short walks from the road, with the high fells left out on purpose.
